At the heart of the teacher training program, apprenticeship allows trainees to begin teaching Pilates under the supervision of a certified instructor. Apprentices apply their knowledge of technique and develop their communication skills in “hands-on” instructional situations. They also have opportunities to observe other teachers in a professional atmosphere.

An apprenticeship consists of 750 hours over the period of one year, as follows:

200 observations (4 x week)
150 personal workouts (3 x week)
100 lessons (2 x week)
250 teaching sessions (5 x week)
50 miscellaneous (1 x week)

While participating in the Teaching Training Certification Program, apprentices receive these benefits:

10 mat classes free (space permitting)
8 private lessons free
Free video library access
Free use of Body in Balance equipment for personal workouts
15 percent discount on additional lessons

Cost: $5,000. A $500 deposit is required for reservation.
